Stress Management ~ in the Glass?

Have you heard about the lady who was teaching a stress management class? She held up a glass of water and immediately everyone thought that she was going to ask if it was half full or half empty. But she surprised them. She wanted to know how her arm would react if she didn't put the glass down. She told them it was a little like stress, if you didn't put it down at the end of the day, you had big problems. If you hold that glass for ten minutes, no big deal, if you hold it for an hour, you are going to be very tired. But if you hold it for a day or a month without putting it down, you're going to have some serious problems.

How many times have I taken my troubles to bed with me, only to lay awake instead of sleeping?  I ask the Lord to help my mind calm and to go to sleep, then I pick the same old problems up again and remain awake. Isn't that the way with life? If we hang on to problems or the baggage in our lives, we're going to have some serious problems, but if we let go of them at the end of the day and trust them to the Lord's care, we will sleep so much better.  Will we be able to sleep anywhere like my little fella did when he was young???

Thanks for stopping by and have a good sleep!

You too? I have made myself sick worrying over things and people I had absolutely no control over. I have decided to "Do Me". I'm the only one I can manage and leave everybody else to God.
PS I think He's pleased with that arrangement.:)

Oh Rita Sweetie...
You must have been reading my mind. I so needed this. I have been carrying something for about 2 plus weeks now. I have asked for direction, but still stay awake dwelling on it.

Someone visiting my work area, put a note on my vehicle, calling me retarded. It just broke my heart. I have had a hard time understanding how so many people at work, walked right by, saw the note, and after 19 years of working there, NOBODY removed it and brought it in to the attention of security. The person has since been tracked down, and told that he is to write an apology. I have still not seen anything, and I am so tired of hearing about the good old boy comments. He meant no harm, BULL, it is not acceptable.

I needed this write. I thank you so much sweet friend. I promise to be sleeping tonight. I need my rest for Monday for my desk audit. It is very important. We always get a message just in the nick of time.

Many hugs and SO much love, Sherry

Rita...

This post reminded me of a scripture found in Luke 5:5...

It says "We worked hard all night and caught NOTHING."

I've been there sooo many times. I'm thankful today I've learned to REST in His never failing promise to lead and guide. EVEN when my nets are empty, I still trust Him.

Beautiful Post~
